It Is Well With My Soul is a hymn of comfort, praise, and faith. Horatio Spafford lost all four of his daughters, as they were traveling to England to help with D. L. Moody’s evangelist crusade there. Their ship collided with another, and only his wife survived. Sailing to England to join her, he passed the spot where the ship sank. He was there inspired to write this hymn.
